Series Overview

In October 2023, the Toyota Vellfire (AGH40) launched in Malaysia, with only one version, priced at 438,000 ringgit (excluding insurance), imported from Japan as a completely built-up (CBU) unit. It belongs to the large MPV category, equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 engine, mated to a CVT automatic transmission, front-wheel drive, with a maximum power of 182 horsepower, a maximum torque of 235 Newton meters, and a top speed of 170 km/hour (claimed).

Powertrain

The 2024 Vellfire is equipped with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine (2AR-FE) that can produce 182 horsepower and 235 Newton meters of torque, paired with a CVT automatic transmission with seven virtual gears. Built on the TNGA-K platform, which uses additional structures and high-rigidity adhesives in specific parts of the body to reduce body deformation and increase body rigidity, compared to the previous generation, it has increased by 50%.

Fuel Consumption

In common fuel tests (50% highway and 50% city roads), carrying four or more passengers, the final result is 149.5 km driven, refueling 16.33 liters, with an average fuel consumption of 10.9 liters/100 km.

Body Dimensions

The 2024 Vellfire is 75mm longer than the previous generation, but 55mm lower, presenting an elegant low-riding stance.

Interior Configuration

The interior is outstanding, the layout of the dashboard in the front row is reasonable, the control buttons feel good, the location is easy to operate, equipped with a 14-inch central infotainment screen, built-in navigation system is easy to use. The 12.3-inch digital dashboard has clear readings. The rear doors have various opening methods, the second row of seats has an Ottoman function, heating and ventilation, the third row of seats has also been improved, retaining the sliding and folding function, the seats are filled with soft materials, positioned higher, with comfortable leg space. The interior space is spacious, with plenty of headroom and legroom for all passengers in full passenger mode.

Safety System

Equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 safety system, including Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Road Sign Assist (RSA), Automatic High Beam system (AHS), blind spot monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (BSM, RCTA), and the safety system is enhanced by an upgraded front camera and improved radar sensors, with a wider and clearer field of view.
