2024 "Fortune" Global 500: Chinese auto companies shine, BYD rises the fastest!

Recently, the 2024 Fortune Global 500 was officially released, with a total of 133 Chinese companies on the list. Among them, there are 10 automobile and bicycle parts manufacturing companies from China, including SAIC (93), FAW (129), BYD (143), GAC (181), GEELY (185), BAIC (192), DongFeng (240), CATL (250), CHANGAN's parent company (343), and CHERY (385).
Looking at the rankings, SAIC has entered the top 100 of the world's top 500 enterprises for 11 consecutive years, with a revenue exceeding 100 billion US dollars, but a drop of 9 places from last year. The ranks of major domestic private car companies, such as BYD, GEELY, CHERY (CHERY entered the top 500 list for the first time), and CATL, have all risen from last year. Last year, BYD was the Chinese company with the most improved ranking. This year, BYD's revenue increased from 63 billion US dollars last year to 851 billion US dollars, a rise of 69 places from the previous year.
In addition, HuaWei and Xiaomi, which have joined the car-making track not long ago, have also entered the world's top 500 list this year. Among them, Huawei ranked 103rd this year, up 8 places from last year; Xiaomi ranked 397th this year, down 37 places from last year. Globally, the top ten automakers in order are Volkswagen (11), Toyota (15), Stellantis (28), Ford (36), GMW (39), BMW (41), Mercedes-Benz (42), Honda (57), Mitsubishi (including Mitsubishi Automobiles Division) (65) and Hyundai (73).
