It is revealed that on Chinese social media, Tesla has begun trial production of the new Tesla Model Y Juniper remodel at its Shanghai Gigafactory on October 22, with a projected daily production of only 12 cars. This production pace is relatively slow compared to the Shanghai Gigafactory's capability to produce a Tesla every 30 seconds. The official launch date has not been clearly responded to by the company, but Elon Musk stated in February that a new Tesla Model Y would not be released in 2024.

Although Tesla has not revealed specific details about the updated model, we can still make speculations from the leaked spy photos. From the spy shots, it can be seen that Tesla Model Y Juniper remodel adopts a new "highland-style" front end, along with some unmasked prototype parts.

According to previous leaks, the rear lights of Tesla Model Y Juniper remodel will be connected to the taillights, forming a red strip marked with the Tesla logo. Moreover, the capacity of the new car's battery pack is expected to be upgraded to 95kwh and equipped with an 800V voltage architecture, compared to the current Tesla Model Y battery capacity of 60-78.4kwh.
