With the upcoming launch of the all-new BMW X3, BMW Malaysia has recently introduced two special edition models - the BMW X3 sDrive20i Final Edition and BMW X3 xDrive30e Final Edition. As the swan song of the third-generation X3, these two models not only continue the existing powertrain but have also undergone a comprehensive upgrade in appearance and configuration, with sportier look and plentiful interior fittings being the highlights.
The selling price for these two models is as follows:
- 2024 BMW X3 sDrive20i Final Edition: RM 338,500 (including a 5-year warranty and service package)
- 2024 BMW X3 xDrive30e Final Edition: RM 384,500 (including a 5-year warranty and service package)
For consumers with limited budget but still want to experience BMW's high-end quality, they can also choose the standard two-year warranty version which is priced at RM311,800 and RM357,800 respectively.
Exterior Design
Both special edition X3s come standard with the M Sport package to further emphasize their sportiness. The new M Lights Shadowline gives the front face a sharper look, and the M highlight Shadowline adds to the overall sportiness. Particularly for the xDrive30e Final Edition, it is equipped with exclusive red highlight M-Sport brake calipers that showcase its unique identity.
In terms of body color, consumers can choose from Carbon Black, Alpine White, and M Brooklyn Grey. Moreover, the sDrive20i Final Edition comes with 20-inch double-spoke 787 M lightweight alloy wheels, while the xDrive30e Final Edition keeps the 19-inch Y-spoke 887 M dual-color wheels.
Interior and Configuration
In terms of interior, the BMW X3 sDrive20i Final Edition offers two "Vernasca" leather interior options: Mocha with decorative stitching and Black with decorative stitching. The xDrive30e Final Edition can choose Mocha with decorative stitching or Black with blue stitching.
Both models are equipped with wireless charging, which enhances the convenience of daily use. In addition, the xDrive30e Final Edition also features a head-up display (HUD), further enhancing the driving experience.
In terms of safety configurations, both special edition models have added active cruise control (ACC) with stop-and-go function, greatly enhancing the convenience of long-distance driving. The xDrive30e Final Edition also includes the Parking Assistant Plus parking assistance system, including a 360-degree panoramic camera and Remote View 3D remote viewing function, further enhancing the convenience and safety of parking.
Power System
In terms of power, neither of the two special edition models has been adjusted for performance. The BMW X3 sDrive20i Final Edition continues to be equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, with an output power of 184 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with power transmitted to the front wheels.
The BMW X3 xDrive30e Final Edition is equipped with a plug-in hybrid power system, including a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and electric motor, with a combined output of 292 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. It is also equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with power transmitted to all four wheels through the xDrive all-wheel drive system.
In addition to the above configuration, these two special edition models also retain many classic equipment of the M sports edition.
The sDrive20i model provides Vernasca leather interior, aluminum "Rhombicle" dark interior trim strip with pearl chrome decoration, front sports seats, faux deer-skin roof, control piece chrome trim, M sports leather steering wheel, adaptive LED headlights and triple-zone automatic air conditioning system. In addition, it also includes an electric driver's seat with memory function, ambient lighting, BMW Live Cockpit Plus (12.3-inch full LCD dashboard and 10.25-inch center control touch screen), and HiFi sound system.
The xDrive30e model adds aluminum fine-cut interior trim (also with pearl chrome decoration), adaptive suspension system and Harman Kardon surround sound system on this basis, further enhancing driving comfort and sound effects.
The BMW X3 xDrive30e Final Edition is equipped with a 12-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that can provide up to 50 kilometers of pure electric range under WLTP conditions. Charging with a 3.7-kilowatt AC wall box takes 3.6 hours, while charging with a home tri-pod socket takes about 6 hours.
