The Malaysian Auto Show (MAS 2024) will be held from May 22 to 26 at the Selangor Agriculture Expo Park (MAEPS) in Malaysia, it is hosted by the Malaysian Institute of Automotive, Robotics and Internet of Things (MARii), and the exhibition area is expanded to 40,000 square meters. This exhibition will showcase the latest automotive technology that covers areas such as internal combustion engines and electric vehicles, and through the presentation of the NAP2020 policy, it will present the future development direction of the automotive industry. In addition to presenting the latest models and energy-saving vehicles, two exhibition halls will be set up to display motorcycles. Furthermore, the event will offer special offers and financing options, as well as interesting test drive routes and a wealth of outdoor activities.
Development Trajectory of the Auto Show: A Long Journey and Constant Change
Since the first appearance of the ASEAN Auto Show in 2015, the Malaysian Auto Show has come a long way. In 2015, as the rotating chairman of ASEAN, Malaysia proudly hosted this event at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre to showcase His Highness the Sultan's classic car collection and set up an off-road demonstration track.
In 2016, the auto show was officially renamed the Malaysia Auto Show, and electric cars and buses were exhibited for the first time with over 60+ models on display.
In 2017, for the first time, the auto show was moved to the MAEPS in Serdang, Malaysia. More than 170 exhibitors participated and a 3 km test-drive route was introduced, enriching event activities and visitor experience.
In 2018, the auto show continued at MAEPS, which featured a smart mobility experience, free vehicle inspection, obstacle races, and off-road driving experience. The 3km test-drive track became a major highlight, providing vehicle enthusiasts with an immersive experience.
The 2019 auto show displayed over 100 models and introduced activities like the International Auto Modified (IAM), 3 km test drive, MARii mobile hall, autonomous vehicle challenge, and more. Nobody could predict that it would be the last auto show before the COVID-19 pandemic, which was only recovered until 2023.
Victorious Return and Expansion in 2023
After the pause due to COVID-19, the 2023 Malaysia Auto Show made a victorious return. It became the largest auto show and displayed more than 200 models. For a better experience, the show also added a dedicated motorcycle exhibition hall and extended the test drive to 4.5 kilometers, making it the longest in auto show history.
Future Outlook: Continuous Innovation and Development
The Malaysia Auto Show has demonstrated strong resilience and vitality, ushering in hope for the future amid constant adaptation and development. With constant adjustments and growth in the future, this event will continue to bring more innovative and exciting experiences to car enthusiasts in Malaysia and even the world. Let us look forward to the 2024 Malaysia Auto Show together, to explore the future of the automotive industry!
