On the official homepage of Toyota Malaysia, the new Corolla Cross has begun its pre-launch campaign, with a pre-sale price starting from RM 140,000.00.
Even though it's a small facelift, there won't be a lot of change in terms of power, but many consumers are looking forward to this facelift. On one hand, it's a brand new design, and on the other hand, the interior will bring a larger screen configuration.
Why has the new Corolla Cross front face changed like this?
The Corolla Cross has undergone a brand new redesign of its front face, with the new honeycomb grille, which is likely to be a design trend for future Toyota cars. This is also influenced by electric vehicles, such as the American 9th generation Camry, which has already adopted a similar design, and some Lexus models (like the RX), looking forward to more similar design in the future Toyota models.
What upgrades does the new Corolla Cross have in its interior?
The new Corolla Cross has upgraded its original 9-inch central control screen to a 10.1 inch one, and supports wireless connection to APPLE CARPLAY and ANDROID AUTO, and then comes with a 3D PANORAMIC VIEW MONITOR feature.
The traditional foot-operated handbrake will be cancelled, upgraded to an electronic handbrake and Auto HOLD functionality.
In addition, there are rumors that the new Corolla Cross will also add wireless charging capabilities and smart key system, allowing for remote car ignition using a mobile phone and early activation of air conditioning.
The upgrade in configuration could result in the new Corolla Cross being priced slightly higher than the current model, with an expected starting price of over RM 130,000. The arrival of the new Corolla Cross may be aimed at solidifying Toyota’s position in the small SUV segment, competing with the Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-30.
The new Corolla Cross also comes with even more exciting upgrades, and the car will officially debut at the Kuala Lumpur Auto Show on December 5th.
