【PCauto】Toyota Woven City is a conceptual smart city designed by Toyota Company to achieve intelligent, sustainable future living. As Toyota's bold attempt in future city planning, Woven City will integrate advanced technology, sustainable energy systems and efficient lifestyles, aiming to create an experimental platform full of innovation and green ecology.

The project was first announced in 2020, with plans to build near Toyota's factory in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The goal of this future city is to create a "fully connected, sustainable living environment." The first phase has been completed, and it is expected that the first batch of 100 residents will arrive this autumn.

The 100 residents consist of two parts: The first is inventors, whose goal is to develop, test, and validate products and services; The second is weavers, who are passionate about "extending mobility" and will work with inventors to test products.

Inventors will be composed of Toyota employees, WbyT employees, partner startups and entrepreneurs who wish to work in mobile commuting, while weavers include residents and tourists.

In simple terms, this is an experimental base that brings inventors and industry personnel together in a private city to study technologies such as autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, smart home devices, and robot technology.

So, the design layout of Woven City includes three major road systems: the fast lane (highway) is mainly for autonomous vehicles, used for long-distance transport and emergency rescue. The medium speed lane (personal mobile lane): For personal transportation, autonomous vehicles, and shared transportation systems. The slow lane (pedestrian lane): A road designed specifically for pedestrians and cyclists, creating a more pedestrian-friendly environment.

The city is divided into functional areas such as residential, commercial, leisure and entertainment, and scientific research and innovation. In particular, in the research area, Toyota plans to use the city for a series of technology experiments and tests, exploring the application of future technologies such as smart homes, autonomous driving, and robot services.

Residential areas will come standard with smart home technology. Residents can control all facilities in the home through voice, gestures, and smart devices. Sensors and data feedback systems within each residence will also help optimize energy use, ensuring a healthy and comfortable home environment.

In addition, Woven City will also become a "social experiment" where humans, robots, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of things deeply integrate. From autonomous delivery robots to self-driving taxis, from intelligent health monitoring systems to fully automated stores, every innovative technology in the city will provide inspiration for future urban life.

ToyotaWoven City represents the frontier trend of future city development, and is Toyota's bold imagination of future travel and lifestyle. With the completion of the first phase of construction, the second phase has already begun to enter the construction stage. Toyota plans to increase the population of Woven City to 2000 and open it to the public in 2026.
