General Overview

The Renault Zoe is an early electric vehicle, like the Nissan Leaf, it is an early mass-produced electric vehicle from mainstream car companies. In Malaysia, TC Euro Cars launched two versions, the entry-level R110 priced at 165,000 ringgit, and the test version R135 priced at 179,000 ringgit.

Power System

The R135 version is driven by a front-mounted electric motor, which can produce 135 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. In the 0-100 km/h test, it took 9.05 seconds, faster than the 9.5 seconds claimed by Renault.

Endurance and Charging

Under the WLTP cycle, the Zoe R135 has a range of 386 kilometers. In our test, we drove about 120 kilometers, and the average energy consumption was 16.33 kWh/100 kilometers. The car supports up to 50 kW DC fast charging, and through a 22 kW AC charging station, it takes about an hour to charge from 65% to 100%.

Interior Configuration

For the interior, the dashboard and the door interior are made of hard plastic, which lacks a sense of premium. But there is a roof design similar to a circuit board, and the infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay. The on-board controls and knobs are easy to operate, even though the screen is small.

Pricing

In the Malaysian market, there are two variants of Zoe, the basic R110 costs more than 160,000 ringgit and has relatively simple configuration. Compared with models like the BYD Dolphin and Ora Good Cat, the price is higher and the cost performance is somewhat insufficient. However, the Zoe can also be obtained through leasing.
