Overview of the Series

The 2020 Toyota Hilux Rogue is the top model after the new modification of the Toyota Hilux series, with a price of 146,880 Malaysian Ringgit.

Power System

The Rogue is equipped with an upgraded 2.8-liter turbocharged 1GD-FTV diesel engine, with power increased to 204 horsepower and 500 Nm (previously 177 horsepower and 450 Nm). The increase in power is due to improvements in the turbo cooling system and an increase in fuel rail pressure (from 220 MPa to 250 MPa). The powertrain is solid and reliable, with ample mid-range power. The diesel engine has noise but is not significant. The 6-speed automatic transmission is well tuned, and the daily driving experience is better than the Ford Ranger's 10-speed transmission.

Interior configuration

The interior quality is good, with many practical details, but it still lags behind competitors in some aspects. The rear row has air conditioning vents and blue LED ambient lighting. The 8-inch touch screen infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, runs smoothly, but the sound effect is average. The steering wheel can be manually tilted and telescopic adjusted. The seats are made of two-color perforated leather, and only the driver's seat has 8-way electric adjustment. The rear seat is more practical than the Mitsubishi Triton, but not as comfortable.

Safety System

Equipped with Toyota Safety Sense active driving assistance system (ADAS), including automatic emergency braking (PCS), lane departure warning and yaw assist, adaptive cruise control (DRCC). The actual test performance is good, but the quality of the panoramic view monitor (PVM) and reversing camera needs to be improved.

Exterior

The modification brings changes to the appearance, the Rogue has a unique design, such as different front bumpers and grilles, engine hood decorations, new fog lamp frames and skid plates. There are also dark gray plastic wheel arches, door handles and side rearview mirrors. The tire size is 265/60R18, equipped with 18-inch rims and Toyo Tyres Open Country H/T 2 tires. The rear of the car has a large Rogue sticker, unique tailgate decoration and dark gray bumper.

Driving Performance

With a body frame structure, the car will tilt when cornering, and will shake when bumping, and the suspension needs time to stabilize. Thanks to the good field of vision and variable flow control steering, the driving feel is like a big sedan, confident in narrow streets, and stable on highways.
