Overview

In Malaysia, the 2024 BMW i5 eDrive40 is one of three variants in the new (G60) BMW 5 Series lineup, with the other two being: BMW 520i (RM 359,700) and BMW i5 M60 (RM 499,100). The BMW i5 eDrive40 is priced at RM 420,100, including a five-year extended warranty package.

Powertrain

The i5 eDrive40 is equipped with a rear single motor rear-wheel drive that can generate 340 PS and 430 N·m of torque, with a 0-100 km / h acceleration time of 5.7 seconds (tested).

Energy Consumption

According to actual energy consumption test data, starting with 80% SOC, driving 111.3 km with 50% on the highway and 50% in the city, it was measured that it needed to be recharged 21.59 kWh to return to 80% SOC, so the average energy consumption was measured as 19.39 kWh / 100 km.

Vehicle Size

The BMW i5 eDrive40 is 5060 mm long, 1900 mm wide, and 1515 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2995 mm. Compared with the (G30) previous generation model, the length is increased by 97 mm, the width is increased by 32 mm, the height is increased by 36 mm, and the wheelbase is increased by 20 mm. The trunk space is 490 liters.

Interior Configuration

The interior has a curved display screen across the dashboard, integrated with a 12.3-inch driver display screen and a 14.9-inch touch screen infotainment system, running BMW's latest operating system 8.5. There is also the optional BMW Interaction Bar, which adds a futuristic feel to the interior. The Malaysian spec BMW i5 eDrive40 is equipped with a "vegan-based" Individual Merino leather interior.

Safety Systems

The BMW i5 eDrive40 is equipped with a driving assistance professional package, including distance control with start and stop, steering and lane control assistance, speed limit assistance and advanced navigation guidance, among other features.
