The 2022 GAC GS3 belongs to the B-class SUVs, priced at RM 105,800 (OTR with SST, test version).

Power System

Equipped with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, power is 114 PS, torque is 150 Nm, equipped with a 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission, not a CVT. The acceleration performance is average, with a 100 km acceleration time of 16.2 seconds and a 100 km braking distance of 46.1 meters.

Fuel Consumption

The fuel consumption test result is 6.8 liters/100 km, which is consistent with the official claim.

Interior configuration

The interior quality is better than the exterior, with a lot of soft filler and leather contact surfaces, but there are some hard plastics, the button layout is reasonable, there is a decent sunroof, but the digital part and language settings need to be optimized. The performance of the 8-inch center control screen in the interior is average, the sound quality is not good, but there is Apple CarPlay.

Interior Space

The interior space is relatively ample, slightly larger than the Proton X50, with good head and leg room, but the central space is smaller. The boot space is 356 litres when the rear seats are upright and can reach up to 780 litres when folded.

Driving Experience

The driving impression is bland, not strong in power, and poor in steering performance, with a noticeable "dead zone" feel. It provides ordinary, comfortable and sports steering modes, but the difference between the latter two is not significant.

Riding comfort

The performance is average, the tires help absorb road bumps, but the overall performance is easy to forget. The suspension tuning is relatively hard, not very suitable for Malaysian roads.
