    • Overview of the Series

    The locally assembled (CKD) 2021 Peugeot 5008 facelift is one of the two SUV models that mark the revival of the Peugeot brand in Malaysia. Priced at RM 177,311 (including SST exemption), it competes with other 7-seater SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, Nissan X-Trail, Mitsubishi Outlander, and Mazda CX-8.

    Power System

    It is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 167 PS and 240 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. In normal mode, the throttle response is slightly delayed, and the gearbox is not very eager to downshift. In sport mode, the throttle response is enhanced, steering effort is increased, and simulated engine sounds are introduced into the cabin.

    Interior Configuration

    The interior has seen little change, with the most notable update being the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which maintains clear displays and responsive operation. There is a wireless charging tray, and the overall layout, build quality, and material selection are excellent. However, there are still a few minor issues, such as the oddly small steering wheel for a compact SUV, the need to sit higher to properly view the instrument cluster, the obstructed cruise control stalk, and the need to adjust climate settings through submenus.
