Power System

Equipped with the new 2.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, the 1GD-FTV model, it can output 204 horsepower with a torque of 500 Nm and is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It accelerates 100 kilometers in 12.8 seconds and brakes in 49 meters. The turbocharged diesel power provides a smooth acceleration that makes overtaking easy. Comparatively, driving the Fortuner is more confident than the Hilux.

With equal city-to-interstate highway mileage, Fortuner's fuel consumption is 13.8 liters/100km.

Dimensions

The size is enormous, sharing a trapezoidal frame structure with Hilux, it is tall and wide, which makes models like the Proton X70 look smaller on the road.

Interior Features

The interior looks premium and robust. Red and black leather interiors, with frequently contacted points wrapped in leather. It features a dual glove box with the top compartment capable of refrigerating beverages. Equipped with the rear-seat entertainment screen, rear AC vents, and ample storage space. The overall quality of the interior is outstanding, with sturdy materials, excellent button touch, and strong materials. Information and entertainment system are easy to connect, the 9-inch touchscreen is responsive but suffers from glare in sunlight, an 8-speaker setup performs modestly. Driver seat features electronic adjustments and offers a good forward view. The second row provides decent legroom and headspace for adults, whereas the third row is more suitable for children. However, the third-row seats cannot be folded flat, affecting cargo space and rearward vision. The optional wireless charging pad is awkwardly positioned, rendering it impractical.

Safety System

The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is easy to use, the blind-spot monitoring is practical and the 360-degree camera aids in negotiating tight spaces.
