  • Overview of the Series

The 2022 Honda Civic FE is longer, wider, and lower than its predecessor, the Civic FC. It also features a longer wheelbase, which improves passenger space and enhances overall ride comfort and stability.

    Power System

The Civic FE is equipped with an upgraded 1.5-liter turbocharged VTEC engine that produces 182 horsepower and 240 Nm of maximum torque, offering a noticeable improvement over the power output of the Civic FC. The Malaysian version is the most powerful model in the region. The engine is paired with a CVT gearbox that has been tuned for quicker response and improved drivability.

    Vehicle Dimensions

When compared to the Civic FC, the dimensions of the Civic FE have been adjusted. The length has increased from 4648 mm to 4678 mm, while the width has grown slightly from 1799 mm to 1802 mm. The height has been slightly reduced from 1416 mm to 1415 mm, and the wheelbase has been extended from 2700 mm to 2733 mm.

    Safety Systems

The Civic FE comes equipped with basic safety features such as six airbags, vehicle stability control, ABS, EBD, Auto Brake Hold, Hill Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal, and front and rear proximity sensors. The Civic RS variant also benefits from the updated Honda Sensing ADAS system, which now includes the Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN). Honda Sensing offers nine key functions, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Low-Speed Follow, and Lane Departure Warning, among others.

    Interior Configuration

The front seats and driving position are excellent, with the steering wheel and pedals easy to adapt to. Overall visibility has been significantly improved compared to the Civic FC. The rear seats offer better support, and getting in and out of the car is more convenient. The overall interior quality and the tactile feel of the various switches are much better than before, and there is ample storage space inside the cabin.

    Honda Civic Pros and Cons

    Pros

The appearance is appealing, blending elements of coupes and luxury sedans, with a sharp, sporty design
The interior is modern and feature-rich, offering comfort and convenient functionalities typical of midsize sedans
The pricing starts low, and the interior space is spacious
It has two types of energy-saving power systems, with flexible control

    Cons

The interior does not have a futuristic feel like the eighth generation Civic
The rear seat space is average, and the head space is limited due to the roofline
The 1.8 liter petrol engine matched with the CVT gearbox is slightly lacking in driving pleasure
The horsepower of the basic engine can be increased, the standard infotainment touch screen is small, many technological features are exclusive to hybrid models

    Conclusion

Although Honda Civic is aimed at the general public, it has its unique charm. The appearance and interior have highlights, there are some shortcomings in space and power, but the overall value is good, with energy-saving power and flexible control
