Overview of the Series

The Volvo EX30 is a small BEV model under Volvo, with three models in the Malaysian market, EX30 Plus (RM 188,888), EX30 Ultra (RM 208,888), and EX30 Ultra Twin Performance (RM 228,888).

Power System

The model we are testing is the Ultra Twin Performance, equipped with dual motors (AWD), which generates a combined power output of 434 PS and 543 Nm of torque, the same power as the Brabus models of the Smart #1 and Smart #3, as they are both based on the same SEA2 platform. However, the EX30 is slightly shorter in both overall length and wheelbase. The EX30 comes with rear-wheel drive (RWD) by default, and all-wheel drive (AWD) can be enabled through the driving settings.

Vehicle Dimensions

The overall design retains Volvo's familiar boxy appearance, looking like a scaled-down version of the EX90. The design blurs the lines between vehicle categories, but the shorter length and wheelbase result in less rear-seat space.

Interior Configuration

The interior adopts a minimalist design, with a single screen controlling most of the important functions, including adjusting the side mirrors, headlight settings, etc. The glove box is in the middle and is small, with opening controlled via the screen. There are several unique designs in the car, such as the central drawer-style cup holder, movable tray etc. However, the comfort of rear passengers is not good, the rear space is cramped, and there is no rear air conditioning outlet and panoramic glass roof sunroof.
